The Phillip Capozzi, M.D. Library at New York Medical College
Digital Resources Summer Internship
The Phillip Capozzi, M.D. Library at New York Medical College is pleased to announce the
Digital Resources Summer Internship for Summer 2025!
Are you interested in medical libraries and/or the history of medicine? Are you interested in
learning how to use LibGuides or getting more practice using it? Are you interested in
creating cohesive and engaging content related to historical materials?
Then we want you! We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join us for the summer to
assist us with the project of evaluating, organizing and updating the biographical LibGuides
maintained by the Capozzi Library on significant figures represented in the collections of
the College Archives. This project allows for some flexibility in following your specific
interests as they relate to medical libraries and medical history.
What you will get:
• Hands on experience and training using LibGuides.
• Project Management experience and training.
• Introduction to academic medical library practices and organizational structure,
with opportunities for some shadowing of librarians when possible.
• Experience working with archival reference sources to evaluate and develop
historical content
This internship will be co-supervised by the Digital and Data Initiatives Librarian and the
College Archivist. Ideally, this will be a hybrid internship so you can come in person to the
library and archive a few times and work remotely other times. However, we also welcome
candidates who require a fully remote internship.
The internship is part-time, unpaid and requires that you earn course credit towards your
degree. We are happy to adapt to the requirements of your internship credit and class
schedule, in terms of number of hours and/or weeks required but prefer that the internship
begin sometime in June. Please complete the application form and upload a letter of
interest and resume here by 5/9/2025. If you have questions or concerns, please contact
