Rutgers Education and Employment Research Center based in the School of Management and Labor Relations is looking for a Communications Assistant. The Communications Assistant would work closely with the Director to organize and implement a communications strategy for the Center’s work. The Center conducts research and evaluation on the intersection between education and work with the goal of being an evidence-based resource for policy and practice. Approximately 10 hours per week. Start as soon as possible. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include:

-Organize and track events and publications that require communications
-Develop social media strategy and assist in drafting social media posts
-Draft newsletters for internal and external audiences
-Draft blog posts and short articles based on longer research reports
-Assist with graphics and layout of publications and presentations
-Assist with planning and execution of online events and webinars


Bachelor’s degree
Current enrollment in graduate program preferred
One to two years of professional experience in communications related work
Demonstration of strong verbal and communications skills
Ability to work will with others
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge about community colleges, STEM education, and workforce development is preferred
