Job Summary:
The Archives Records Specialist I is responsible for supporting records management operations by organizing, cataloging, and preparing physical and digital records for storage and retrieval. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with standard operating procedures, and adherence to safety and quality standards in an office and warehouse setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort and organize physical records for inventory creation and metadata collection
- Record information using Excel-based record management templates
- Prepare boxes and documentation for offsite storage transfer
- Utilize records archiving IT systems in accordance with records management policies
- Maintain compliance with applicable standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
- Track and report daily work progress for management review
- Support team activities and perform tasks independently to meet project deadlines
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in clerical, archival, or records management work
- Intermediate skill level in Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
- Proven attention to detail, organizational, and data entry skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a regulated industry or records management environment preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Document or Record Management IT Systems
- Background in library sciences, archiving, or records administration
