Part-Time Teen Librarian (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Clark Public Library – Clark, NJ

The Clark Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative part-time Teen Librarian (or Library Associate) to provide maternity leave coverage. This temporary position is 20 hours per week, beginning in early January and continuing through mid-May 2026.

The Teen Librarian will plan and lead engaging programs for teens, assist with collection development, provide reference and reader’s advisory services, and collaborate with staff to create a welcoming environment for young adults.

Responsibilities include:

Developing and facilitating programs and activities for middle and high school students.

Assisting with teen collection selection and displays.

Providing reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages, with a focus on teens.

Assisting with outreach and promotion of teen services through social media and school partnerships.

Supporting general library services as part of the public service team.

Qualifications:

MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited program (or current enrollment in one) preferred.

Experience working with teens in a library, educational, or community setting.

Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Schedule:
Approximately 20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

“Good Faith” Salary, Range, or Rate of Pay:
Librarian:  $31.00  Library Associate:  $24.00

Additional Information:
The Clark Public Library is a New Jersey Civil Service library. Must be a resident of New Jersey to apply for this position.
