  • As part of the Ryder Analytics team, the Data Services Intern will perform a variety of job functions for traditional on premise as well as cloud based environments, including but not limited to working with structured, semi-structured and/or unstructured data, data profiling/analysis, data ingestion, ETL reporting development, testing, documentation, and production environments support including troubleshooting and break fixes. The position could be extended past the initial internship period and may lead to a temporary position.
  • Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or Senior/Graduate students pursuing a bachelor’sMaster’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) , Computer Science, Data Science or Computer Engineering preferred0 to one (1) year exposure to SQL, Data base programming, database methodologies with the ability to write SQL queriesStrong verbal and written communication skillsExposure to SQL, database management systems, NO-SQL databases, ETL tools like ADF, SSIS, Informatica preferred. Exposure to cloud technologies and platformsMust be self-motivated, results-oriented and accountableExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Passionate for learning Excellent organizational skills

Ability to document solutions and processes internal and external to the team

Learn new technologies and tools, bring new ideas to the team and be an effective team player preferred

Effectively communicate with management and co-workers and customers; strong customer focus preferred

Work well under pressure, successfully meet schedules, work independently to produce high quality work with minimal supervision preferred

Operate as part of a cross-functional project team that will organize, plan and execute varying scale projects from vision to implementation preferred

Information technologies (beginner level) preferred

Cloud platform like Microsoft Azure (beginner level) preferred

Certificate in Cloud based data ingestion, storage and analytics tools like Azure Data Factory, BLOB Storage, PowerBI etc. completed or in progress preferred

Certificate in database management systems or business intelligence completed or in progress preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with on premise and cloud based solutions and platforms

Analyze and document data requirements including facilitation of sessions with business

Analyze, resolve and document product related issues

Analyze and document user processes

Data analysis and profiling

Troubleshoot data ingestion, ETL and data issues

SQL troubleshooting

Partner with key members of various departments to determine the definitions of essential data elements

Work with data architects to review and implement logical and physical data base models

Support the mapping of source system data to target models into data warehouse and data lake

Define and capture metadata and rules associated with the calculation of metrics

Performs other duties as assigned
