Position Summary:
The Digital Media Designer is responsible for efficiently designing, developing and preparing content for digital and social media advertisements and content marketing. The Digital Media Designer will serve as a digital designer and take ideas from concept to execution by working collaboratively with the video producers, graphic design colleagues, information technologists, copywriters, content experts and marketers to deliver an effective user experience that generates measurable results and enhances the brand of the university.
As a Digital Media Designer in the Office of Strategic Communications at NJIT, the incumbent will get to create digital assets for multimedia and graphics projects, including websites, mobile apps, advertising, animation, emails, social media, and digital displays.

Essential Functions:
● Design on-brand creative solutions for a variety of uses: websites, product graphics, email templates, social media graphics, advertisements, brand campaigns and digital displays including video assets ● Have a high proficiency in industry-standard digital design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe In-Design, Adobe LightRoom, and others as required to create high-quality digital assets that can be used across several different marketing outlets in multiple sizes and variations ● Translate existing content, ad objectives and offline/online marketing strategies into effective designs for multiple channels ● Take ideas from concept to execution, working with video producers, design colleagues, information technologists, marketers and content experts to deliver an effective user experience that generates measurable results ● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs that are creative, useful, and align with technical and brand standards ● Have a strong eye for photo selection to match ad format, desired outcomes and brand adherence ● Work closely with the digital marketing team to produce content that generates results ● Create content that motivates, inspires, educates, informs, and simply provides information, across a wide variety of digital platforms ● Become an influencer who makes an impact on our team and shares the latest changes and trends in our fast-moving industry ● Performs other related duties as assigned

Essential Characteristics:
Creative thinker with the ability to design materials that resonate with target audiences, leverage analytics and user testing to gauge the effectiveness. Demonstrates ability to multitask, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment. Creative problem solving skills, project management, time management and strong communications skills, verbal and written. Drives the creative development of relevant customer-facing collateral, both print and digital, brand and recruitment supporting materials, and advertisement campaigns. Able to revise materials as necessary based on collaborative feedback processes.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field ● Minimum of two years of experience in creative design or equivalent experience ● Creative thinker with the ability to design customer-facing materials that resonate with different target audiences, leverage analytics and user testing to gauge the effectiveness ● Strong proficiency in industry-standard design tools including Adobe Creative Suite and Google ad creator ● Demonstrated knowledge of digital marketing technologies such as social media ad formats, email marketing graphics, Canva, A/B testing for design and HTML5. ● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing ● Excellent organizational and time management skills ● Proficient with Google Workspace or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Web Designer, Salesforce, HML for email template design, Layout Builder, Sketch, CSS and Javascript. ● Skills in photography and videography including equipment use and visual aesthetic ● Final Cut Pro and Apple Compressor experience is preferred ● Ability to be creative and think outside the box
