Digital Line Producer – CBS News New York

CBS News New York is looking for a phenomenal, multi-skilled producer to help create original content for our 24/7 streaming network. The role requires close coordination with senior managers, other digital line producers, and broadcast producers to help boost viewership & proven user experience on our OTT, desktop and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Produce a live or pre-taped newscast, special report, guest segment, etc.
• Exercise editorial judgment in selection of content
• Become fluent on the technical framework behind the stream, navigate and troubleshoot as necessary
• Booth live coverage of events, newscasts & news conferences while adjusting to breaking news and/or story updates
• Maintain ‘programming wheel’, which includes both writing and editing
• Write and send push alerts & teases to help promote original stream content

Requirements/Qualifications/Preferred Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience working with producing broadcast and/or streaming content
• Prior Control room experience
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deal with intense deadline pressure and continually react to breaking news with smart programming and creative storytelling
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with different departments
• Effective time management skills
• Social media experience, a plus
• Preferred familiarity with iNews and Crispin system
• Basic video editing skills
• Must be available early mornings, night, overnights, weekends and holidays
• Upbeat, “get it done” attitude with BIG IDEAS!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 – 90,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
