The Content & Partnerships Production Assistant (Freelance, Contractor) is passionate about non-fiction
storytelling and contributes to two of our major Comcast LMD Platforms: “Comcast Newsmakers” and “Voices
of the Civil Rights Movement.”

Seen by millions, these award-winning platforms are available free to the public online and through several
Comcast-managed platforms. The entry-level Production Assistant will be tasked with growing these platforms
by: fact-checking scripts, performing photo and archival research, researching future topics and bookings,
doing QC (quality control) on published material, and providing other editorial services as needed.
This is a full-time freelance, contractor role. Max 40 working hours a week. Position is in-person (not remote)
and based at Comcast Headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.
Major Responsibilities:
• Supports the Content & Partnerships team in its mission to produce exceptional video content, driving
results for all parts of the production process: from pitching stories, researching, field producing, script
writing, fact-checking, and post-production.
• Crafts smart headlines and captions for video content, following AP style for journalism.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in journalism, communications, media, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge about the American Civil Rights Movement from the 1950s to 60s.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Must be a master writer who knows how to meet a deadline.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
• Motivated, self-starter who can work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Guidelines):
• Digital native who consumes / ideates / strategizes / produces content in a platform agnostic way.
• Knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, iMovie, etc.) and Adobe
Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) experience a plus.
