New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Communications & Public Affairs at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under direction, the Student Assistant assists the Manager of Digital Communications and Media Relations with design, copy writing, photography, video, and posting of social media content and campaigns in the Department of Communications and Public Affairs. The Student Assistant also works on other projects including designing flyers, organizing digital files, archiving historical information about the medical school, assisting with and working at events on-site, etc., as needed.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

Under direction, participates in concept and creative discussions for extensive social media campaigns and monthly planning

Copywriting, designing in Canva, scheduling posts in Metricool for social media, flyers, videos and slideshows that may appear on social media or in News and Views

Takes pictures at events and video for reels

Completes monthly editorial calendars

Tracks campaign metrics and enter them into excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides

Assists with photo asset organization in the Getty DAM system, as directed

$17 per hour

15 hours per week – flexible based on class schedule
Work Arrangement
This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
Minimum Education and Experience
Must be a currently enrolled Rutgers undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic computer proficiency including file management and data entry

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly

Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written procedures accurately
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with scanning, document management systems, or data entry preferred

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, or similar databases preferred

Interest in administration, records management, health administration, or higher education operations preferred
